Design Trends that Will (Thankfully!) Continue in 2021
- December 30, 2020 by The Find in Inspiration
Way back in January, we wrote a post about the 2020 design trends that had us most excited. Of course, 2020 had its own plans, and while we all spent far more time at home than usual, home decor was unfortunately low on the priority list for many of us. Well, good news! Design experts across the industry are sharing their predictions for design trends in 2021, and some of our favorites of 2020 are set to continue. Here’s what we’re most excited about.
Warm Earth Tones
That warm palette of earth tones – think beige, brown, terra-cotta, burnt umber, and warm taupes, beiges and sands – will stay popular. Try playing with this trend yourself by mixing in natural elements. Not only do they bring the outdoors in, which is a wonderfully grounding and calming design element, they fit the color palette perfectly.
Natural & Lived In
If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that a home needs to be functional first. That inviting, comfortable, natural lived-in thing is best achieved with high quality pieces big on character and patina — think aged leather and rustic weathering.
Granny Chic
The “grandmillennial” design trend wasn’t on the list for 2020, but it’s been on an upward trajectory this year and it’ll likely go big in 2021. It’s a modern take on the homey design elements at grandma’s house, and anything that evokes tradition, comfort and nostalgia counts. At The Find, we have tons of decor and accessory pieces that hit the mark.
With design trends like these following us into the new year, we’re more ready than ever to kiss 2020 goodbye. We’ll be open this week on New Year’s Eve until 4 pm, closed for New Year’s Day, and open with regular hours on Saturday. Come in and see what you can find to start 2021 off on the right foot!
